  • Apply qualitative and quantitative reasoning to draw meaningful conclusions in chemical properties
  • Design and solve fundamental organic syntheses
  • Analyze and determine structures of organic molecules from spectroscopic data

About this course:

This course covers organic reactions, nucleophilic and electrophilic substitutions and additions, electrophilic aromatic substitutions, carbonyl reactions and catalysis. Instruction also covers the molecular basis of drug action and the organic chemistry of pharmaceuticals. Transferable for UC credit.
Prerequisites
CHEM XL 14C Structure of Organic Molecules.
