About this course:
Writing is not easy. And yet, writing is still a principle means of communication. We apply for jobs with a written cover letter and resume. We request things from our employers. We communicate through social media. However, because we are often not there “in person” we have to ensure that our writing is strong, concise, and accurate. It is during the revision and editing stages when the written message can be strengthened to maximize the usefulness of the message. This course walks participants through the revision and editing process of their writing. The course focuses on skills such as adjusting sentence structure and vocabulary to better meet the needs of individual circumstances and audiences; knowing how to proofread and edit your own writing; understanding basic grammar rules dealing with punctuation, sentence structure, and word choice; knowing how to proofread and edit someone else’s writing; understanding how to use software and technology to improve your writing; and knowing where to go to get additional assistance.Corporate Education
