Instructor Statement:
We are captivated by a story because of how it’s told—the characters, the details, the writer's voice. A contemplative stroll into the interior can be as engaging as a rollercoaster ride with tense starts, euphoric crests, and teeth-clattering plunges. As an instructor, I’m energized by helping writers discover and use the tools of the craft. It’s my pleasure to create an inviting and stimulating atmosphere where writers can build a community while navigating the process from inception to Fade to Black. To help you grow, we’ll use a combination of writing assignments, exercises, lectures, movies, and readings. You’ll share and discuss your writing with one another in a safe, supportive workshop environment.
