UCLA Extension Accounting and Taxation Scholarship
As of May 2026, the Accounting and Taxation Scholarship has unfortunately been paused. While we are not accepting applications at this time, we look forward to offering this scholarship again in the future. Updates will be posted on this page as they become available.
- Each award provides up to $5000 that can be applied towards the registration fees for courses in the Accounting Certificate, Taxation Certificate, or Internal Audit Certificate.
- Please note that application/candidacy fees and textbooks/materials are not covered by the scholarship. Awards also cannot be applied retroactively to past or in-progress courses.
- Scholarship recipients can utilize their awards to offset course registration fees beginning with the following winter quarter and for up to two years from their award date.
- Scholarships are non-transferable and will expire in two years from their award date.
- No cash awards will be given. Unused scholarship amounts will remain in the scholarship fund to be used for future Accounting and Taxation Scholarship recipients.
- Students must have completed a bachelor’s degree, with a recommended GPA of 3.0.
- At the time of scholarship application, students must be currently enrolled in the Accounting Certificate (CE0654), Taxation Certificate (CE0059), or Internal Audit Certificate (CE0531), and have paid the candidacy fee.
- Students must have met all the prerequisites for their certificate, and completed the first four courses of the Accounting Certificate/Internal Audit Certificate or the first two courses of the Taxation Certificate.
- UCLA and UCLA Extension employees and their family members/dependents are not eligible to apply.
- Students who were previously awarded an Accounting and Taxation Scholarship may not re-apply.
Eligibility criteria for all final candidates will be checked and confirmed by UCLA Extension.
To apply, students must submit:
- Their completed, typed application form.
- Their resume.
- A copy of their bachelor’s degree diploma or other proof of their conferred bachelor’s degree.
- A copy of their unofficial transcripts from their completed bachelor’s degree.
- One 250-word, typed essay stating why they are pursuing a career in accounting or taxation.
Submitted applications that are incomplete, late, or from ineligible students will not be considered for an award. No exceptions.
