  • 10.4
    practitioners in the tax controversy
  • 12.28
field, people from the Internal Revenue
  • 14.2
    Service, Department of Justice, to
  • 16.32

  • 18.12
    business.
  • 19.12
UCLA is one of the premier tax
  • 20.88
    controversy conferences in the United
  • 22.76
States. You learn from the best and
  • 25.08
brightest minds in tax controversy who
  • 27.76
give of their time to prepare the
  • 29.32
materials to teach us what they do.
  • 32.4

  • 34.48
who are on the front lines, and you get
  • 37.28
to meet everyone else who does what you
  • 39.6
do, so you feel like you're part of a
  • 41.16
community. That's why I come to UCLA.
  • 44.12
    This Institute is extraordinarily
  • 45.76
valuable because of the heavy IRS
  • 48.04
participation all the way from often the
  • 50.96
    Commissioner through C-suite executives,
  • 54.12
mid-level managers, as well as line

  • 72.48
    you're getting quality representation
  • 74.96
from both sides. So, you're getting a

  • 84.48
    Controversy Conference, and have
  • 86.72
attended every year since I've been a
  • 88.28
chief. And I attend because of the
  • 90.4
    sophistication of the audience, the
  • 92.84
thoughtfulness of the topics, and the
  • 94.36
caliber of the speakers, because I learn
  • 96.4
something new every time that I attend.
  • 99.4
The Internal Revenue Service folks will
  • 101.04
come out, and they'll talk about the
  • 103.56
initiatives they have that we'll all be
  • 106.12
seeing in the following year. It's a
  • 107.76
heads-up for all of us in the
  • 108.88
    practitioner world.
  • 110.48
A lot of planning goes into this
  • 111.96
    conference. That thought and investment
  • 115.76
really produces a schedule of panels and
  • 119.2
topics that are extremely relevant to us
  • 122.92
as practitioners and brings the best
  • 125.64
    people into the room.
  • 126.88
The speakers are amazing. They are the
  • 129.44
top of their field, whether they're with
  • 131.28
the government or they're in the private
  • 132.88
practice. You just can't get a better
  • 135.2
education and updates in regards to tax
  • 137.68
    controversy topics.

  • 158.8
    which I love.
  • 159.92
If you have to pick one conference up
  • 161.48
throughout the whole year, between the

is the one place to be.
