This course is the conclusion of the organic chemistry series. This course is geared towards pre-medical and pre-health students and is the fourth and final course in the general and organic chemistry series.
Understand structures and nomenclatures of organic molecules
Apply qualitative and quantitative reasoning to draw meaningful conclusions in chemical properties
Design and solve fundamental organic syntheses
Analyze and determine structures of organic molecules from spectroscopic data
About this course:
This course covers organic reactions, nucleophilic and electrophilic substitutions and additions, electrophilic aromatic substitutions, carbonyl reactions and catalysis. Instruction also covers the molecular basis of drug action and the organic chemistry of pharmaceuticals. Transferable for UC credit.
Not open for credit to students with credit for CHEM 10D or 10E.
