French Conversation 1: Music and Poetry

This course is designed to introduce students to French music and poetry, two beloved and expressive art forms. Each week, we explore two iconic songs and poems from the early 20th century through the present, gaining fundamental language skills in a meaningful cultural context. We discover a variety of musical and poetic styles, following their artistic and historical evolution from classic chanson and lyrical poetry to modern voices. This course is ideal for complete beginners, or as a refresher or supplement for students with some prior knowledge of French. This course is conducted in English and French.
