Analyze how political, cultural, technological, and economic factors have shaped our patterns of interaction with the natural environment
Gain a clear understanding of the nature, scope, and causes of the current climate crisis
Critically assess the possibilities for developing an ecologically sustainable society
Recognize and assess the complexity of the current environmental movement
About this course:
This course focuses on such issues as environment and health, disaster, the ecosystem, environmental policy, sustainability, environmental justice, environmental risk, globalization, ecofeminism, environmental attitudes and behaviors, the social construction of nature and several strands of the environmental movement.
