Patrick A. Stewart

Patrick Stewart was born and raised on the hill across from the Griffith Observatory, in Los Feliz, a neighborhood in Hollywood, CA, in a house designed and built in 1929 by Dorthy Arsner, the first major female Director in Hollywood in its infancy. He broke into cinematography lensing music videos, establishing himself as one of the go-to handheld cinematographers for MTV and VH1. After the 2000’s, he expanded to features, documentaries and eventually, television.

Over the course of his career as a Cinematographer, he has collaborated with many brilliant artists, including five Oscar winning Directors: Peter Bogdonovich (documentary Runnin’ Down a Dream about Tom Petty), Mike Figgis (features Timecode and Hotel), Martin Scorsese (documentary Red, White and Blues), Clint Eastwood (documentaries Dave Brubeck: In His Own Sweet Way and Johnny Mercer: The Dream’s On Me), and Michele Gondry (Flight Of The Conchords). 

As a Cinematographer for television, Patrick Stewart has lensed Arrested Development, two seasons of HBO’s Flight of the Conchords, and the last four seasons of Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm.

 Additionally, he has run his own production company, Patrick Stewart Productions, for the last 28 years, producing hundreds of segments for television programs including specials, commercials, documentaries and webcasts.
