Meg Rushing Coffee

Meg Rushing Coffee is an accomplished licensed landscape architect in Los Angeles, CA (#4747). Most of her almost 20 years of practice is in Southern California doing residential design; she also has experience in commercial & public design in Texas, Pennsylvania and internationally.

Before starting her own practice in 2013, Meg was a landscape architect with Pamela Burton & Company, OLIN, Marmol Radziner & Associates, and The Office of James Burnett. She was fortunate to work on many published and award-winning projects including two ASLA National Awards.

Her landscape designs tend to be simple and organized; focusing on space-making and balancing practicality with beauty. Meg's favorite plants are California natives and she incorporates them into her designs to create drought-tolerant, contemporary gardens. Her work has been published in Luxe, Landscape Architecture Magazine, and Garden Design. A book featuring two of her projects is scheduled for release in December 2019.

In addition to her professional work, Meg served as Assistant Professor at Texas Tech University from 1999-2001 teaching undergraduate landscape design studios. She has guest lectured at Chatham University, University of Minnesota, and North Carolina State University.

Meg is actively involved with the UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture Program and has taught various courses over the past 12 years. She is currently Vice Chair of the Instructor Committee at UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture Program, and Secretary of the Association for Women Architects and Designers (AWA+D).
