Mark Johnson
Mark was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, which will explain why he talks about cars incessantly. For his undergraduate studies he attended Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit). There he received his Bachelor of Science in Architecture. That summer he packed up as many belongings as would fit in his car and drove to California to attend the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCIArc), located in Downtown Los Angeles. In September of 2006 he received his Masters of Architecture from SCIArc. He went on to work at numerous Los Angeles architectural firms including Perkins and Will, Morphosis, Corsini Stark Architects, Paul Davis Architects, and West Edge Architects. Mark, having completed seven national exams and one California specific exam (the CSE), is a Licensed California Architect as of April 2nd, 2021. Mark also teaches in the Environmental Design department at Otis College of Art and Design. In his spare time Mark designs and builds sculptures, furniture, and artwork. You can view some of his work on his Instagram page @ORCA_Architects.
