Kevin Mardesich
Kevin A. Mardesich is a full-service communicator. A writer, producer and marketer, he helps Oscar, Emmy, and other industry-leaders develop their narratives across platforms. His skills include script development, screenwriting, filmmaking, copywriting, speechwriting, branding, public relations, documentary shorts, and other forms of storytelling. Kevin's career-highlights feature multiple award-winning entities across these different communication areas. For example, he developed screenplays for three-time Oscar winner, Oliver Stone. Kevin also wrote and creatively produced MTV’s Emmy-winning interactive films called “Take A Stand Against Violence.” These films helped decrease youth-violence and were praised by President Bill Clinton. Understanding that both Hollywood and Washington D.C. are storytelling meccas, Kevin has shared his script, speech, and article expertise with current/former staff from three White House administrations (Clinton, Bush, and Obama). Kevin executed similar communications in-house at Hollywood studios, e.g., for FOX’s sports and National Geographic channels. He then founded his own full-service communications practice, Mardesich Communications. Here, Kevin led 14 PR campaigns for the Emmy-winning ad agency Troika and their clients Apple, ESPN, E!, and 11 other global/national brands. In the spirit of giving back, Kevin has also produced 44 documentary-interviews for universities and global nonprofits. He began this educational half of his career by teaching “Communications for The Entertainment Industry” part-time at The University of Texas at Austin’s #1-ranked Advertising Program (2010, Journal of Advertising Education). Kevin was then recommended by The Los Angeles Times’ editor and recruited by Chapman University’s film school to be full-time faculty. There, he won six teaching awards. His “Business Presentations” students and the film school grew from regional, to nationally ranked (Hollywood Reporter). Currently, Kevin teaches part-time at UCLAx where many of his alums have gone to the Oscars and “gone viral” with films and ads. He continues leading film and marketing projects for clients from his base in Santa Monica, CA.
