JM Gibis

JM Gibis is a Program Management Office (PMO) leader with 25 years of experience leading and consulting organizations in project, program, and portfolio management. For the last 11 years, she has worked for NBCUniversal as a Sr. Director in Portfolio Management. JM has also held positions as Vice-President, Project Management at Grindr, Director, Project Management at Lunchbox (now Mirum Shopper), and Senior Manager, Program Management at First American Corporation, Pcubed, and Publicis Sapient.  JM has been teaching Fundamentals of Project Management, a required course towards the Project Management Certificate, since March 2020.  She has served as an advisory board member for UCLA Continuing Education since 2013 and an Associates Board Member and Co-chair at City Year Los Angeles (AmeriCorps) since 2021.  JM was the President of the Project Management Institute, Los Angeles Chapter in 2009.

JM has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a minor in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Rhode Island and holds a SAFe 6 Agilist (SA)®, Project Management Professional (PMP)®, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)® certifications and a California Real Estate Salesperson license.  She is deeply passionate about the project management field, supporting and mentoring students through their career journeys. JM was a recipient of the UCLA Extension Distinguished Instructor Award in 2023.
