Brandon Shamim

 Brandon is an award winning business strategist, marketing specialist and   executive coach with over 20 years of experience working with diverse businesses and public agencies.

During his career, he has led two management consulting firms; led public affairs at a national public policy think tank, worked in corporate communications for a leading Fortune 100 financial services company; and worked in city government. He also served as Interim Director for a U.S. Department of Commerce initiative at USC, where he was oversaw $30 million in capital assistance and $18 million in procurement for over 2000 businesses in retail, professional services, trade and construction industries.

As a dynamic business coach, Brandon lectures at USC, Cal State LA, UCLA and for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Initiative. He regularly teaches students from Asia, Africa, South America and Europe at UC Riverside’s Institute for Global Business Management.

Having served on the Executive Board of the LA Area Chamber of Commerce and Chair of its Small Business Council for the last eight years, he was also an appointed LA City Commissioner.  Brandon has received over a dozen commendations from Congressional, state and local officials for his community service. He is a published writer and current affairs commentator appearing on CNN, Inc. Magazine, the LA Times, National Public Radio, and KNX Radio.

 Graduating with Bachelor’s Degrees in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Southern California and a Master’s in Leadership and Management from the University of LaVerne, he has advanced executive education at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management. He is a recipient of the “We the People” Award by the International Channel, honored as Innovative Entrepreneur by the South Asian Business Network and recognized as a “forward thinker” by California Forward.
