Understanding the unique accounting principles and requirements that apply to nonprofits is critical for your mission to succeed.  This class provides an introduction to the basic accounting concepts relevant to nonprofit organizations.  Students are exposed to foundational accounting principles and their practical applications, including understanding cash vs. accrual basis; the matching principle; fund accounting; functional allocations; the audit process; minimizing fraud risk; and how to read and prepare financial statements. The class is ideal for bookkeepers, managers, executives and board members involved with nonprofit organizations.
