Dan Brill
B.A., M.A.,NCARB, ARB, RIBA, AIA. Licensed in both the UK and the US, Dan is an experienced architect based in Los Angeles. He designs elegant, unpretentious buildings that are characterized by a clear concept, simple forms, thoughtful detailing, and an honest use of natural materials. His buildings are always practical and enjoyable to use. Dan received an M.A. in Architecture from the Royal College of Art in London, where he subsequently worked for various internationally acclaimed architects on a number of award-winning education projects. In 2006 he founded Dan Brill Architects, a small architectural practice specializing in contemporary residential homes. The practice won several national and regional design awards, and was featured in several architectural publications including Dezeen, Elle Decoration, Grand Designs, The Architects’ Journal, Building Design, Architecture Today and Designboom. Since relocating to Los Angeles in 2014 Dan has collaborated with EYRC, ZGF, Walker Workshop and Marmol Radziner prior to re-establishing his own practice, Dan Brill Architecture. In addition to an ongoing career in architecture, Dan continues to pursue a love of painting, cycling, and music. He is currently working on a series of paintings entitled ‘LAX’ (examining the graphic topography of LAX), he cycles over 100 miles per week, and he hosts a live bi-weekly internet radio show (Dan Brill’s Audio Bouillabaisse) every other Tuesday on Gutsy Radio.
